The Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Coalition has announced the sites and dates for the eight regional competitions in 2025 that will serve as qualifiers for the national championships at Xtreme Arena in Coralville, Iowa, from March 7–8, 2025.
Women’s wrestling is an NCAA Emerging Sport for Women at all three NCAA divisions. The NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics recommended in February 2024 that Divisions I, II and III sponsor legislation to add a national collegiate women’s wrestling championship, with the projected first NCAA championship occurring in winter 2026.
The NCWWC Executive Committee received bids from 21 NCAA institutions seeking to host a regional after it earlier this year approved increasing the number of regions to eight from the previous six. With four athletes per weight class qualifying through each of the Regionals, the field for 2025 NCWWC in Coralville will expand to 320 athletes, up from 240 this past season.
Region One will take place at Buffalo State University in Buffalo on February 22. Region Two will be at Koehler Fieldhouse in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, on February 23. Region Three will take place at Shaw Athletic Center at Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia, on February 22. Region Four will be at Heminger Center in Tiffin, Ohio, on February 22.
Region Five is hosted at Merillat Sport and Fitness Center in Adrian, Michigan, on February 22, while Region Six will take place at Hyland Arena at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, on February 23. Region Seven will be at Cowles Fieldhouse at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, on February 22. Region Eight will take place at Kitty Magee Arena at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, on February 22.
