Wolverhampton Tabs Visit Lauderdale as Official Destination Partner
Wolves spent two weeks at the destination earlier this year
Posted On: October 3, 2024 By :Visit Lauderdale and Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced a partnership making the Florida location the official destination partner of the English Premier League side.
The Wolves stayed in Fort Lauderdale during their two-week preseason tour in the United States in July as the club competed in the Stateside Cup including a game at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
“We are excited to partner with Wolverhampton Wanderers as their official destination partner,” said Stacy Ritter, Visit Lauderdale president and chief executive officer. “This international collaboration highlights Greater Fort Lauderdale’s global appeal and underscores our commitment to bringing people from around the world to experience the vibrancy and diversity of our region. We look forward to celebrating this partnership and inviting Wolves fans from across the globe to explore all that Greater Fort Lauderdale has to offer.”
The announcement was made at Florida Blue Training Center, where Ritter was joined by Dave Thomson (Wolves head of partnerships), Glen Allen (Visit Lauderdale vice president of sports and entertainment), Camila Clark (Visit Lauderdale senior vice president of marketing and communications) and Russell Jones (Wolves general manager of marketing commercial growth).
“We are thrilled to welcome Visit Lauderdale to the Wolves family as our official destination partner,” said Jones. “Having experienced Greater Fort Lauderdale first hand during our recent U.S. tour, I have become its biggest fan — it is a truly incredible place to visit. The beautiful beaches of Greater Fort Lauderdale, combined with the lively nightlife, provided our players and staff with the ideal blend of relaxation and adventure.”
The partnership continues a trend of Premier League sides collaborating with U.S. destinations, as recently Crystal Palace has joined with Enjoy Illinois and earlier this year Experience Kissimmee announced a multi-year partnership with Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority with AFC Bournemouth.
