Wichita to Host 2025 NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championship
Destination will also host the NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship from 2025–2027
Posted On: October 11, 2024 By :The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has selected Park City Arena and Visit Wichita as hosts for the 2025 NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championship.
The 2025 championship will be held March 14–15 and will include a double elimination championship bracket at 10 weight classes. It will be the first time the women’s event has taken place in Wichita. The NAIA has also selected Park City Arena and Visit Wichita to host the NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship through 2027.
“Visit Wichita is honored to host the 2026 and 2027 NAIA Men’s Wrestling Championships, a competition we look forward to welcoming in 2025 and have proudly hosted in the Heart of the Country every year since 2020,” said Visit Wichita Vice President of Sport Development Josh Howell. “We are very excited to welcome — for the first time — the NAIA Women’s Wrestling Championships in 2025. Wichita’s passion for wrestling and sports, our successful track record in hosting this national event and our area’s diversity of world-class facilities like Park City Arena make this region an ideal place to host sporting events.”
Park City Arena and Visit Wichita have hosted the NAIA Men’s Wrestling Championship for the past five years. The 2025 championship will be held March 6–8 and will also feature a double elimination championship bracket at 10 weight classes. Wichita has a rich history hosting NAIA events, as the city will also be the site for the 2024 Men’s Soccer Championship, December 2–9 at Scheels Stryker Sports Complex.
“Throughout the past several years, Park City Arena and Visit Wichita have been outstanding hosts to our men’s wrestling national championship,” said NAIA Championships Director Austin Bennett. “We are excited to continue our collaboration, this time bringing Park City Arena and Visit Wichita’s passionate approach and athlete-centric environment to the women’s championship.”
