The Washington County Visitors Association in Oregon has named Wendy Popkin as the organization’s vice president of destination sales starting November 1 to lead direct group sales efforts to meeting professionals, sports organizers and travel professionals.
Popkin currently is executive director of the Oregon Hospitality Foundation, a role she has held since 2012. From 2003–2012, Popkin was principle of Popkin Solutions, which delivered strategic counsel and project management expertise to create measurable sales marketing, and event programs for hospitality and tourism organizations such as Travel Oregon and the Clackamas County Tourism and Cultural Affairs. She previously held a sales leadership position at Travel Portland.
“We are extremely excited to have a leader of Wendy’s caliber joining our organization and are confident that she will bring measurable success to our destination,” said Dave Parulo, president and chief executive officer of the Washington County Visitors Association.
The Washington County Visitors Association is the official destination marketing organization for Washington County, Oregon, promoting the county under the destination brand Tualatin Valley. It is situated between Portland and the Oregon Coast in the Pacific Northwest.
