Visit Sarasota County in Florida has announced a Name, Image and Likeness deal with Emma Weyant, a Sarasota native and Olympic silver medalist swimmer at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
Weyant, who is between her junior and senior seasons at the University of Florida, will be competing for USA Swimming in the 400-meter individual medley at the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris. It’s the first NIL deal that Visit Sarasota County has inked.
“I am honored to represent Sarasota, a place that has always supported me throughout my swimming career,” Weyant said. “This partnership with Visit Sarasota County allows me to give back to the community and share the beauty and opportunities that Sarasota offers with a wider audience.”
Weyant will be featured in Visit Sarasota marketing materials and on its website and social media, highlighting the area as a destination for visitors, sports enthusiasts and sporting events.
“We are thrilled to partner with Emma, a true hometown hero, as she represents the U.S. and Sarasota on the world stage this summer,” said Erin Duggan, Visit Sarasota County president/chief executive officer. “Her achievements and connection to our community make Emma the perfect ambassador for Sarasota. This collaboration will promote our beautiful county and showcase our destination as a training ground for champions.”
Before transferring to Florida in 2022, Weyant was a member of the University of Virginia swim team that won the 2021–2022 NCAA championship. But long before that, she was a member of the Sarasota Sharks youth swim team.
