Visit Mesa Names Lance Fite as Director of Sports Sales
Fite joins the bureau with a background in hotel sales and management

Visit Mesa in Arizona has named Lance Fite as its director of sports sales. The city near Phoenix has several significant sports projects in the works, including Legacy Sports Park, which will be a 320-acre multisport complex opening in 2022.
Fite joins the convention and visitors bureaus with a background in hotel sales and management, most recently working for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. There he oversaw operations and was acting general manager and director of sales for a Hyatt Place-branded property in North Phoenix. He also worked as area sports and entertainment sales manager with Starwood Hotels & Resorts during the company’s corporate transition to Marriott International.
His priorities at Visit Mesa will be to attract new sports business and secure multiyear contracts with event organizers looking to bring sports business to the city.
“Even during the downturn, Mesa’s visitor industry was opening new properties and announcing large-scale developments ready to attract a new visitor to our city,” said Visit Mesa President and CEO Marc Garcia. “Lance has an incredible network of established sports events right holders and national governing body clients not only because he was a professional athlete himself, but he booked these groups and hosted them in the Greater Phoenix market for the last five years.”
