USOPP Names John Slusher as CEO
Former Nike exec takes over joint venture of USOPC and LA28
Posted On: October 31, 2024 By :Former Nike executive John Slusher will be the new chief executive officer for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties, the commercial joint venture between the LA28 Organizing Committee for the 2028 Games and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
“I’m thrilled to return to the world-class sports city of Los Angeles and build upon the strong foundation that’s in place at the USOPP,” said Slusher. “I’ve spent my career supporting the world’s greatest athletes and I’m honored to be part of the team welcoming them to LA in 2028.”
Slusher will oversee all LA28/USOPP revenue including domestic sponsorship, consumer products, hospitality and ticket sales. Slusher returns to Los Angeles after a 26-year tenure at Nike, where he led global sports marketing and oversaw relationships with the company’s athletes and properties.

Slusher will build upon USOPP’s commercial progress featuring both LA28 and Team USA rights for partners and licensees. Prior to Nike, Slusher began his career in corporate law at O’Melveny and Myers’ Los Angeles practice after receiving his J.D. from the University of Southern California. Slusher will join the USOPP in Los Angeles on December 2.
