USA Weightlifting Names Matt Sicchio as Chief Executive Officer
New executive has experience in the NGB community

Sicchio succeeds Director of Finance and Compliance Andrea Andrews, who is serving as interim CEO following the recent departure of Phil Andrews. Sicchio will begin his role with USA Weightlifting in October, remaining in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which has been his home for the past nine years.
Sicchio currently serves as the chief operating officer for the United States Anti-Doping Agency, a role he has occupied since March 2020. Sicchio spent time earlier in his career in executive roles with USA Football and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, having served in leadership roles across a diverse set of sports businesses and advised numerous national governing bodies over the past 17 years.
“On behalf of the USA Weightlifting Board of Directors, we are very excited to introduce Matt to our community,” said USA Weightlifting President and Board Chair Paula Aranda. “Matt’s experience and professionalism across all aspects of running an organization will help level up USA Weightlifting to enter a new era of growth, athlete-centered focus and compliance. As we continue to be at the forefront of supporting anti-doping efforts, we believe that Matt will be an exemplary leader for USAW.”
Sicchio also spent seven years in the insurance and risk management industry, specializing in sport and fitness. During that time, he served and advised more than 20 national governing bodies, building important relationships and expertise within the Olympic movement.
