USA Swimming Announces 2021-2022 National Events Calendar
Twenty-two events slated from coast to coast
Posted On: August 27, 2021 By :On the heels of its successful showing at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and to start the next Olympic cycle, USA Swimming has announced its targeted schedule of events for the 2021–2022 season with 22 events featuring National Championships, multiple Championship Series events, an international Trials qualifying competition and the return of the 18&Under Spring Cup following its successful debut in the spring of 2021.
The Phillips 66 International Team Trials will serve as a selection meet to qualify U.S. teams for the 2022 FINA World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, and the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia, as well as the 2022 FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China. Sites remain to be determined for the 18&Under Spring Cup, the Futures Championships, and both the 2022 Toyota U.S. Open and Speedo Winter Junior Championships (East).
“Our goal is to provide impactful competitive opportunities for our members,” USA Swimming President and CEO Tim Hinchey said. “We are investing in quality competitions for our athletes and striving to provide a top domestic calendar. We will remain fluid in our planning, to ensure we are hosting the best events in the safest possible manner.”
All local, state and federal health guidelines will be strictly adhered to at each competition site, and entry limits and spectator access will reflect these local restrictions. The calendar is as follows;
2021 Events
December 1–4: Toyota U.S. Open, Greensboro, North Carolina
December 8–11: Speedo Winter Junior Championships (East), Greensboro, North Carolina
December 8–11: Speedo Winter Junior Championships (West), Greensboro, North Carolina
2022 Events
January 12—15: TYR Pro Swim Series, Knoxville, Tennessee
March 2—5: TYR Pro Swim Series, Des Moines, Iowa
March 30—April 2: TYR Pro Swim Series, San Antonio, Texas
April 1—3: Open Water Nationals, Fort Myers Beach, Florida
April 26—30: Phillips 66 International Team Trials, Greensboro, North Carolina
May, Dates TBD: 18&Under Spring Cup, four sites TBD
June 29—July 2: TYR Pro Swim Series, Mission Viejo, California
July 27—30: Futures Championships, four sites TBD
August 2—6: Phillips 66 National Championships, Irvine, California
August 8—12: Speedo Junior National Championships, Irvine, California
November 29—December 3: Toyota U.S. Open, site TBD
December 7—10: Speedo Winter Junior Championships (East), Site TBD
