USA Luge Seeks Proposals for New Headquarters
Posted On: May 19, 2015 By :The United States Luge Association has unanimously approved a motion to develop a request for proposal that will be provided to cities that are interested in securing the headquarters of USLA on a long-term basis. A task force was formed to develop the RFP as well as determine the candidate cities that will receive it. USA Luge is currently headquartered in Lake Placid, New York.
“The board felt it prudent at this juncture to examine the best possible strategic location for our head office,” said Dwight Bell, USLA chairman of the board. “We expect this process to commence very soon. Both economic and strategic advantages will be considered in the process.”
An update from the task force is expected at the organization’s annual meeting on August 29. The USLA is targeting a timeframe of no later than fourth quarter of 2015 to render a decision on the long-term home of the organization. Regardless of the location of the USLA’s headquarters, athletes would continue training in Lake Placid and Park City, Utah.
Interested cities should contact USA Luge CEO Jim Leahy by July 31 for serious consideration.
