USA Curling Awarded Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Grant

USA Curling has been awarded $25,000 as part of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center 2022 2nd Cycle Direct Effect Quality of Life grants.

USA Curling will use the grant to cover a portion of annual travel expenses for the USA Curling National Wheelchair team. There are currently eight members on the tam and these funds will allow them to attend national adaptive sporting events.

“To have financial support from the Reeve Foundation is a great honor and provides our entire organization with extra confidence that we are making a difference in the lives of our athletes,” said Pete Annis, national director, USA Curling Wheelchair program.  “Being part of the USA Curling Wheelchair team provides our members with a sense of belonging and physical and mental strength that comes from being part of a team.”

Fifty-seven grants totaling $1,122,501 were awarded. The Quality of Life Grants Program supports nonprofit organizations that empower individuals living with paralysis. Since the Quality of Life Grants Program’s inception, more than 3,600 grants totaling over $37 million have been awarded.

“These awarded projects are addressing some of the most dire needs of our community. Organizations are still reeling from the effects of the pandemic and are now bracing for a possible recession while facing inflation and ever-rising costs,” said Mark Bogosian, director, Quality of Life Grants Program, Reeve Foundation. “The Reeve Foundation is proud to partner with these organizations and support their initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the community we serve.”
