The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will match the USA Basketball women’s national team in one of its final pre-Olympic tuneups against a team of players from the WNBA who will not be participating in the Olympics.
The game will be at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on July 20. The game is part of the 2024 Women’s National Team training camp in Phoenix as the team prepares for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris, with basketball competition in Lille starting July 27.
“Participating in the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be a great opportunity for our national team as they prepare to defend their Olympic gold medal in Paris,” said USA Basketball Chief Executive Officer Jim Tooley. “It will also serve as a grand celebration of the growth and excellence of women’s basketball in our country and around the world.”
The game marks the second time that the WNBA All-Star Game will feature the USA Basketball vs. Team WNBA format as the two teams played in 2021 prior to the Tokyo Olympics with Team WNBA winning 93-85 behind Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale‘s 26 points. The USA officially qualified for the 2024 Olympics after winning its 11th World title at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Sydney. The USA women are seeking their eighth straight Olympic gold medal and 10th overall.
In addition to celebrating the send-off of WNBA players selected to compete in the 2024 Olympics, the game will be the centerpiece of two days packed of WNBA activities. Additional events will include the 3-Point Contest and WNBA Skills Challenge on July 19 at Footprint Center.
