United Soccer Coaches Tabs Joe Cummings as Interim CEO
Cummings was previously chief executive officer of the organization from 2009–2015
Posted On: May 2, 2024 By :United Soccer Coaches has announced the appointment of Joe Cummings as interim chief executive officer, following the resignation of Geoff VanDeusen.
Cummings — a past president of the organization, United Soccer Coaches Honor Award recipient and chief executive officer emeritus — will assume his duties effective May 6.
“Joe is the perfect person to serve as our interim CEO while our transition team begins the process of selecting a new chief executive officer,” said Rusty Oglesby, president of the board of directors. “His knowledge of the organization, the staff, clear understanding of our mission, vision and values and his never-ending service to our members makes him an ideal choice.”
Cummings served United Soccer Coaches as president in 2004, was chief executive officer from 2009–2015 and received the United Soccer Coaches Honor Award in 2022.
“I look forward to returning to Kansas City, working with the outstanding staff, and linking the goals we cherish as a service organization to our membership, doing so with growth and financial sustainability,” Cummings said.
