40th Connelly Skis Collegiate Water Ski
National Championships
Date: October 11–13
Venue: San Marcos River Ranch, Martindale, Texas
Event description: The Collegiate Water Ski National Championships include 12 teams in Division 1 and 12 teams in Division 2. National team champions are declared in both divisions. Individual medals for slalom, tricks and jumping are awarded based on athletes’ placements within their division. Overall titles are awarded in each division to athletes competing in all three events. Athletes finishing in the top five in each event of slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in Division 1 earn All‐American honors.

When is the event up for bid again?: Currently seeking bids for the 2020 and beyond Collegiate Water Ski National Championships. The 2019 Collegiate Water Ski National Championships will be held in October, 17–19, at Bell Acqua Lakes in Rio Linda, California.
14th U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships
Date: October 13–14
Venue: Havasu Springs, Parker, Arizona
Event description: More than 50 water ski racing athletes compete in two rounds of circle‐sprint races. The athletes draw for pole positions, make a deep‐water start at the drop of a green flag and race in lanes for a designated number of laps. Athletes compete for titles in 17 divisions. Overall placements are determined by total number of points. In the event of a tie, total race time breaks the tie.
