After years under the leadership of Doug Beal, who was an icon in the sport as a player, coach and executive, USA Volleyball went in a decidedly different direction when it hired Jamie Davis in January. Davis is the national governing body’s first CEO with no prior experience in the sport and was hired by design for his marketing and e-commerce background. The IOC’s Coordination Commission was in Los Angeles this week for a three-day visit to review selected venues and track the progress of the @LA28 Games. The tours included the Rose Bowl, Intuit Dome and several venues in Long Beach.
The @HCHSA has appointed Ryan Walsh as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Janis Burke. Walsh is currently the chief executive officer and executive director of the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation, a position he has held since 2018.
