The National Football League announced that Super Bowl LXII will be hosted in Atlanta in 2028, with the game played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The announcement was made at the NFL Fall League Meeting in Atlanta.

Super Bowl LXII marks the fourth time Atlanta has hosted the Big Game and the second time at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with the most recent game hosted in 2019.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Super Bowl back to Atlanta in 2028,” said Dan Corso, president, Atlanta Sports Council and Atlanta Super Bowl Bid Committee. “As we made clear throughout the process, no city is better positioned than Atlanta to host events of this magnitude. Super Bowl LXII would not be possible without the incredible cooperation of leaders in the civic and business community who continue to come together to deliver for our city and state.”

With its fourth Super Bowl, Atlanta will tie Phoenix — the 2023 host — for the fifth most Super Bowls hosted by a destination. Atlanta also was the site for the game in 1994 and 2000, both at the Georgia Dome. The city will also host the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship and also was recently awarded the 2031 Men’s Final Four.

“Atlanta is a world-class event destination and a natural fit for Super Bowl 62,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “Arthur Blank has been a transformative figure in the Atlanta community, playing a crucial role in leading the bid to bring the Super Bowl back to the city. We look forward to working with him, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Sports Council and all of our partners on the ground to create an unforgettable experience for fans around the world in 2028.”

As part of the lead-up to Super Bowl LXII, Atlanta will host the NFL Honors, Super Bowl Experience, Super Bowl Opening Night and several events around the community.

“This is a tremendous honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be selected as host for Super Bowl LXII,” said Atlanta Falcons Owner and Chairman Arthur Blank. “Thank you to my fellow owners for their trust in awarding Atlanta this opportunity, and thank you to Commissioner Goodell, Peter O’Reilly and the entire league for their continued leadership in making the NFL the greatest sports league in the world.”
