The stunning scenery—large deserts and the highest mountains in America—serves as a beautiful backdrop for athletic events of every stripe and encourages exploration off the field. “The Mountain West has exceptional venues in an unparalleled setting,” said Jennifer Stoll, executive director of the Greater Grand Junction Sports Commission in Colorado. “The nature of our geography and the culture of our community opens up a breadth of outdoor recreation-centric opportunities.”
