Posted On: May 16, 2013 By :The St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame has announced plans to build a three-story, 33,000-square-foot facility in downtown St. Louis.
“In just four short years, we have gone from no hall of fame at all to one full of inductees, a variety of annual events, the highest level of respect from athletes and fans and now a permanent home to display historic artifacts, engage the fans and community and tell the compelling stories of all the truly great St. Louis athletes and teams in the best sports city in America,” said Greg Marecek, St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame founder and president.
According to a statement from the hall of fame, one of the sites being considered is Union Station. The new building will have a hall of fame members room, a library of sports and a hall of fame shop. It will also feature a hall of fame boardroom for meetings and rentals.
