SportsEngine Partners with USA Volleyball on Member Management
The company’s technology could help ensure that NGB members have passed background checks
Posted On: May 17, 2019 By :SportsEngine Inc. has partnered with USA Volleyball to serve as the national governing body’s member management technology provider in a move that could help ensure that event participants have met safety requirements and passed background checks. SportsEngine, an NBC Sports Group company, has had a long-standing relationship with USAV but as of September 1, 2019, will offer its membership management services for the organization, which has 370,000 members and 4,500 active clubs.
As part of the deal, USA Volleyball and its 40 affiliated regional volleyball associations (RVAs) will have access to SportsEngine’s member management technology to manage their regional, club and athlete membership data. The company’s services will include financial tools, enhanced communication and rostering designed to provide automated data sharing and eliminate duplicate efforts. The SportsEngine technology will also integrate with third-party systems to provide real-time information on memberships, which will help ensure that participants are certified with safety requirements and have completed a background check.
“We are very honored and excited to form this partnership with USA Volleyball,” said Libby Kohlbeck, SportsEngine’s head of volleyball. “To have the ability to work with an elite organization to create and deliver an incredible technology experience for regions, club administrators, coaches, officials, volunteers and families is our goal. It’s exciting when our mission, vision and values completely align with an organization as they do with USA Volleyball and we can’t wait to get started.”
USA Volleyball has seen its membership grow every year since 1980. “We are thrilled to work with SportsEngine to provide value to our regions, clubs and members,” said Jamie Davis, CEO of USA Volleyball. “This partnership allows us to improve communication, support our ‘safety first’ strategic priority and provide a seamless membership experience across all of USA Volleyball.”
