Sports San Diego Elects Jackie Reed as President
San Diego native is the chief executive officer of TS Restaurants
Posted On: June 7, 2024 By :The Sports San Diego board of directors has elected Jackie Reed, chief executive officer of TS Restaurants, as president of the non-profit organization for 2024.
“Sports San Diego is expanding its scope of work for the region which will result in considerably larger impacts for our community,” Reed said. “I look forward to working side by side with a great group of civic-minded San Diegans and making a difference for our hometown.
Reed succeeds Dennis DuBard within the organization, which was formerly known as the San Diego Bowl Game Association. Sports San Diego has overseen the Holiday Bowl since 1978 and in 2022 expanded by bringing the region’s sports commission under its umbrella.
Last year saw the organization launch the Rady Children’s Invitational men’s college basketball tournament and the assumption of management for the California State Games. Other 2024 elected officers for Sports San Diego include: Dr. Nancy Rohland-Heinrich, president-elect; Steve Martin, treasurer; Shelley Zimmerman, secretary; and Dennis DuBard, immediate past president. Since 1978, the association has generated more than $1 billion in economic benefit for the San Diego region.
Reed is the chief executive officer of TS Restaurants, which has 13 restaurants in Hawaii and California including local stops Jake’s Del Mar and Duke’s La Jolla. Reed started working with TS Restaurants in 1989 as a hostess for Leilani’s on the Beach in Maui and has been chief executive officer since 2015.
Reed is an executive board member for the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association and on the Board of Trustees at Francis Parker School. She is on the board of Just Remember Corporation, a nonprofit honoring her late grandson.
