The Washington State Scholastic Esports Association’s 2025 Spring State Championships will be May 18 at the Lynnwood Event Center in Lynnwood, Washington.
Thirty-two high school teams and over 160 students will be competing in the finals for Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate and Valorant. This is the first time the WSSEA State Spring Championships have been held in Snohomish County.
“We are excited to welcome high school esports teams, coaches and family members to the city of Lynnwood and Snohomish County,” said Tammy Dunn, executive director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission. “Hosting a high school esports state championship is a first for our organization to host and we look forward to hosting more state championships.”
High school teams will compete in the spring season for the chance to make it to the finals for each game title. In addition to live action, students can talk with industry experts at the Career Fair Expo and connect with college esports coaches to learn about their programs.
“This will be our fourth live state championships event and it promises to be our biggest event so far,” said Jake Voss, WSSEA executive director. “There will be more teams and players than ever before competing in our most popular games. Thanks to our partners Snohomish County Sports Commission and LanFest, the Lynnwood Event Center will be the epicenter of Washington state esports on May 18.”
LanFest is a nonprofit organization that helps bring gamers together for in-person esports events around the country.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Washington State Esports Association High School State Championships to Lynnwood,” said Ryan Bush, tourism/project manager for the city of Lynnwood. “Lynnwood is a safe and welcoming city and we are excited for students and families to experience our incredible restaurants and shops. This event highlights the growing impact of esports and we are proud to partner with Snohomish County Sports Commission to bring these events to Lynnwood.”
