Northstar Meetings Group has announced six future sites for the TEAMS Conference & Expo, the world’s largest gathering of sports-event organizers, taking its annual event to a half-dozen markets reflecting a variety of destinations that host sports events throughout the United States.
Attendees at TEAMS, which include the gatekeepers to the 90.4 million room nights and $32.3 billion in direct spending generated by sports-related travel annually, will gather in Houston in 2020; Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 2021; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2022; Palm Beach, Florida, in 2023; Anaheim, California, in 2024; and Birmingham, Alabama, in 2026.

Next Stop: Houston
TEAMS ’20 will be held in Houston, October 19-22, 2020. Houston previously hosted the TEAMS Conference in 2004. TEAMS ’20 will be headquartered at the George R. Brown Convention Center, which has 1.8 million square feet of meeting and exhibition space.
From amateur sports to the Super Bowl, event planners and attendees recognize Houston as a top destination for major events and successful happenings. Houston is the biggest city in the state of Texas and fourth-largest city in the United States.
TEAMS ’21 Hits Atlantic City
The TEAMS ’21 Conference & Expo will be held in Atlantic City, September 27–30, 2021. TEAMS was last held in Atlantic City in 2016. TEAMS ’21 will be headquartered at the Atlantic City Convention Center, which is designed to incorporate and reflect Atlantic City’s seaside location, occupies a 31-acre site and offers five exhibit halls, 45 meeting rooms and nearly 500,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space.
Atlantic City welcomes groups with nearly 18,000 hotel rooms and an array of meeting facilities of all sizes. Located within a few hours’ drive of nearly one-third of the nation’s population, Atlantic City’s beach and iconic Boardwalk make Atlantic City unique among gaming destinations and serve as a magnet for visitors from all over the world.
TEAMS ’22 Will be Held in Oklahoma City
TEAMS ’22 will be held in Oklahoma City, October 10–13, 2022, heading to the state of Oklahoma for the first time in its history. It will be headquartered at the new Oklahoma City Convention Center, which will feature a 200,000-square-foot exhibit hall.
Oklahoma City, the state capital, is known for its cowboy culture and friendliness toward sporting events. Since 1993, Oklahoma City has seen more than $5 billion of public and private investment in quality-of-life projects and improvements throughout the city.
TEAMS ’23 Heads to Palm Beach
TEAMS ’23 will held for the first time in Palm Beach, October 2–5, 2023. TEAMS ’23 will be headquartered at the Palm Beach Convention Center, which has a 100,000 square-foot Exhibit Hall and 20 meeting rooms.
West Palm Beach has restaurants, shopping and nightlife in Rosemary Square across the street from the convention center, and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is also nearby. Clematis Street and CityPlace are downtown districts filled with restaurants, shops, bars and clubs.
TEAMS ’24 Returns to Anaheim
TEAMS will return to the Anaheim Convention Center in five years’ time, September 23–26, 2024. Already the West Coast’s largest convention center, Anaheim Convention Center recently opened an additional 200,000 square feet of meeting space and is regularly attracting multiyear commitments from event organizers. Along with this year’s conference, Anaheim hosted TEAMS in 1999.
Visit Anaheim announced the formation of the Orange County Sports Commission at TEAMS ’19. In addition to being the home of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks, Anaheim is home to the Disneyland Resort, a massive complex of family-friendly, Disney-themed rides, restaurants, hotels and shops.
TEAMS ’26 Goes to Birmingham
TEAMS will held in Birmingham, Alabama, for the first time October 26–29, 2026. TEAMS ’26 will be headquartered at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, which features 220,000 square feet of exhibit space and the 19,000-seat Legacy Arena.
Birmingham is a sport-friendly destination that welcomes a variety of sporting events, including the Honda Indy Grand Prix each year as part of the IndyCar Series. The host of the Birmingham Bowl every year at Legion Field, Birmingham will also host the 2021 World Games.
