SEC Announces Extension With Greenville As Women’s Basketball Tournament Host
Bon Secours Wellness Arena has hosted seven times since 2005
Posted On: October 17, 2024 By :The Southeastern Conference will continue to hold its women’s basketball tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, through 2028.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced the three-year extension on Wednesday. Greenville previously hosted the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2005, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024 and it will host again in 2025.

Enhancing our sports events pipeline remains a priority, delivering substantial economic benefits to our community and exceptional entertainment for residents and visitors alike.”
Fourteen cities have hosted the SEC women’s tournament since it was first held in 1980. Greenville has hosted it seven times overall entering the 2024-2025 season, which ties it for the most with Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
“The City of Greenville and Bon Secours Wellness Arena have proven to be successful hosts of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament and we are pleased to call Greenville home for three additional years,” said Sankey. “The city’s hospitality and organization, combined with the quality of the arena, make Greenville an ideal location to provide a memorable experience for SEC women’s basketball student-athletes, coaches and fans.”
This year’s SEC Tournament in Greenville will be held March 5-9. South Carolina has won four of the past five tournaments, finishing runner-up in the one tournament it did not win.
