Seattle Center will be the home for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Seattle fan festivals during the summer of the tournament, which will include a U.S. men’s national team group stage game in Seattle.
The Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 Organizing Committee and Mayor Bruce Harrell announced the site on Tuesday. In addition to broadcasting all Seattle FIFA World Cup matches, programming will include entertainment, hospitality areas, sponsorship activations and showcases for Made in Washington products, arts & crafts, and food & beverage.
“Seattle Center is the perfect location for the Seattle Fan Celebration,” said Peter Tomozawa, chief executive officer of Seattle FWC26. “It will be the best place in Seattle to watch a match outside of the stadium itself.”
Staging the Seattle Fan Celebration at Seattle Center will be easily reached from and to downtown hotels and the stadium district by public transportation, Seattle monorail, state and local ferries and other forms of transportation. SeattleFWC26 plans to host nine additional fan zones across the state with sites announced in the months ahead.
“Seattle’s recent run of marquee sporting competitions, concerts, and conventions firmly establishes our destination as one that is eminently capable of not just hosting these events,” said Tammy Canavan, president and chief executive officer of Visit Seattle. “We pride ourselves on showing off what makes this community special.”
Seattle Center is home to many festivals and events every summer and when activated during the tournament, the capacity of the Seattle Center is estimated up to 20,000 at any given time. In 1962, Seattle hosted the World’s Fair, building the Space Needle and the Seattle Center campus. The campus includes Climate Pledge Arena, home of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.
“Seattle Center is excited to host a world-class fan celebration as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026,”said Marshall Foster, director of Seattle Center. “We are committed to making this an unforgettable experience for our community as well as fans from around the globe. Our team is ready to create a welcoming, interactive and vibrant experience that reflects the spirit of our city, supports our campus partners and ensures that every visitor feels the excitement of the World Cup.”
