A sports hub like no other has plans for improvement
Salt Lake City’s rise as a sports hub is no accident. The city has invested heavily in infrastructure to support a wide range of sporting events. This commitment is evident in the quality of our venues, the professionalism of our event management teams and the enthusiastic support of our community. The NHL’s interest in Salt Lake City underscores our growing reputation as a premier location for sports. The Delta Center, which hosts Utah’s NBA team the Utah Jazz, will now also host Utah’s NHL team. The Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) has expressed plans to make significant improvements and updates to the city center and the surrounding blocks. SEG recently unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art practice facility for the team. This new facility will be just 20 minutes South of Salt Lake City. Over the next couple of years, construction of the new practice facility will take place, which will include two NHL-Standard ice rinks. These top-notch rinks will also serve the community, allowing for youth and amateur hockey league use. With this, the facility is poised to become a hub for hockey excellence in the region. Plans for future Olympic Games only add to the excitement and anticipation surrounding our city.
