National Stadium in Spanish Soccer Team’s Future
The venue would include offices, sports facilities and administrative facilities
Posted On: June 28, 2023 By :The board of directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation have presented a proposal to the general assembly that would see the RFEF acquire land and build a national stadium that will facilitate the administrative work of the federation.
The announcement comes after presenting the annual accounts for 2022 to the assembly members. The project will be presented at the next assembly in December.
RFEF President Luis Rubiales, said the board’s idea is for the national stadium to have a capacity of between 30,000 and 40,000 spectators with offices, sports facilities and administrative areas.
Rubiales said there is limited room for growth at the federation’s current facilities, both in terms of administrative space and other facilities, for the increasing number of national teams in the past five years.
“We know that it is not legally necessary for the assembly to pronounce on this, but we want to do it,” Rubiales said. “We deserve to have assets.”
