Premier Ice Prospects and 200×85 have announced a strategic merger aimed at developmental opportunities for girls youth hockey players at the grassroots and elite levels.
Upcoming programming for both separate organizations will remain consistent and future programming announcements will be made at a later date. Premier Ice Prospects focuses on development programs and elite-level tournaments while 200×85 has been working in youth hockey since 2003.
“We are thrilled to welcome Premier Ice Prospects into the 200×85 hockey family,” said Kevin Mann, president and chief executive officer of 200×85. “PIP Hockey’s unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality player development and tournament experiences aligns perfectly with 200×85 and we are excited to expand our collective offering to serve the growing popularity of girls hockey.”
The news of the merger comes as women’s professional hockey has been in the headlines. The Professional Women’s Hockey League, with six teams in two countries and two highly-anticipated games already in the books, also scored a victory off the ice before the inaugural game with Air Canada becoming an inaugural Premier Partner and official airline for the league’s first six teams.
Premier Ice Prospects is known for its development programs including ID camps, prospects camps and showcases, as well as elite-level tournaments. Going forward, the combined 200×85 and PIP Hockey teams will collaboratively work under Kathy Pippy, the director of girls hockey for PIP Hockey.
“I couldn’t be more passionate about the impact this will have on girls hockey,” said Pippy. “Collaboratively, Premier Ice Prospects and 200×85 are dedicated to taking the girls hockey experience to the next level. Our shared commitment is fueled by a deep passion for the growth and development of female players. Together, we aim to provide an unparalleled platform that will elevate all aspects of girls hockey programming, creating opportunities and experiences that inspire and empower every young athlete in the game.”
