Powerboat P1 Appoints Tim Ramsberger As USA CEO
Former sports tourism executive moves to event organizer
Posted On: September 16, 2021 By :Tim Ramsberger has been named the president and chief executive for Powerboat P1 Management’s U.S. operations as the organization looks to expand its global strategic planning.
Ramsberger will have responsibility for all of Powerboat P1 USA’s commercial, race event, marketing, communications and digital activities. Ramsberger will be based in Florida and Powerboat P1 Management Chief Executive Officer Azam Rangoonwala will continue in his global role at the London office and become chairman of Powerboat P1 USA.
“In a rapidly evolving and highly competitive sports industry still dealing with the impact of the pandemic, it’s vital that we look at our business differently and find new ways to continue to develop our primary market in the United States and increase revenues for reinvestment in the sport’s future growth,” said Rangoonwala. “Tim’s extensive experience and accomplishments in key sectors such as financial and strategic planning, operational management, sponsorship and partnership development, and sports and entertainment law make him ideally placed to lead our US team at this exciting time.”
Ramsberger joins Powerboat P1 USA from Visit St. Pete/Clearwater where he has been chief operating officer since 2016, successfully rebuilding and rebranding the Sports Commission and Community/Brand Engagement departments to deliver significant growth in room nights and consumer engagement. He has previously worked on events including the 1994 FIFA World Cup in Orlando, Florida, and the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta.
