Placer Valley Tourism in California, outside of Sacramento, will be the naming-rights sponsor of the Roseville Soccer Complex, which is scheduled to be completed in late 2025.
The Roseville City Council approved the 12-year naming-rights sponsorship agreement during a meeting on October 16. Placer Valley Tourism will pay $5 million over the life of the sponsorship. The facility’s first sports tournaments and social events are scheduled to be in January 2026.
“With our focus on sports tourism, having PVT as the title sponsor of this best-in-class facility is a continuation of a partnership that benefits the region,” said Roseville Mayor Bruce Houdesheldt.
The Placer Valley Soccer Complex will feature 10 artificial-turf soccer fields that can also be used for flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, rugby and quadball. Local groups, including Placer United and the Roseville Soccer Club, will lease some of the fields throughout the year.
“It’s another strategy to expand sports tourism for Placer Valley Tourism and the community,” said Kim Summers, chief executive officer of Placer Valley Tourism. “The soccer complex checks another big box.”
The complex is aiming to attract large sports tournaments and more than 600,000 athletes and fans every year.
“This long field project is something we have been looking forward to for many years and we are thrilled to announce our sponsorship,” said Vanessa Phillips, chair of the Placer Valley Tourism Board and area managing director of Highgate Hotels. “This will add yet another dynamic sports venue to our region, attracting a variety of sporting events and generating a significant economic boost to lodging, restaurants, retail and entertainment for the local community.”
