O’Reilly is the executive vice president for club business, international and league events. He has extensive Olympic Games experience along with his NFL work, having been a NBA staff member who supported basketball operations at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and 2000 Games in Sydney.

“We are at a pivotal moment in American football history and together we recognise the transformative power of the Olympic Rings and the enormous opportunities they provide,” O’Reilly said. “The IFAF and the NFL are committed to a new era that redefines how International Federations (IFs) and professional leagues can work together to drive global growth in a highly competitive landscape.”

The IFAF Congress, held recently in Paris, added NFL representation to the board in an unanimous vote. More than 80 delegates attended the 25th anniversary event for the international federation in the wake of seeing flag football addded to the 2028 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles.

“We are delighted to welcome Peter O’Reilly as the NFL’s representative on the IFAF Council,” IFAF President Pierre Trochet said. “This appointment is a powerful example of the strength of the partnership we have built together with the NFL as part of our shared ambition to grow the game internationally.”
