Paralympic Sports to Make World Combat Games Debut in 2023

Six Paralympic sports will be welcomed into the 2023 World Combat Games lineup, which is hosted by a Middle Eastern country for the first time.
Scheduled to take place from October 20–30 at the King Saud University Arena Complex, the Riyadh 2023 World Combat Games will have Paralympians with physical, intellectual and visual impairments qualify to compete in their respective divisions of Aikido, Muaythai, Armwrestling, Ju-Jitsu, Sambo and Savate.

More than 1,700 combat athletes from over 80 countries will compete in this year’s World Combat Games. In total, 16 combat sports will take part including aikido, arm wrestling, boxing, fencing, judo, Jiu-Jitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, Muay Thai, sambo, savate, sumo, Taekwondo, wrestling and wushu.
The 10-day event features a festival for fans, ambassador program, sports demonstrations, entertainment, youth masterclass, cultural exhibitions and conferences. It will also host the first World Martial Arts Gala, honoring the legends of martial arts and combat sports.
