PA Sports Welcomes Visit Delco as its 14th Member
Delaware County’s facilities allow it to host a variety of sports
Posted On: April 2, 2024 By :Visit Delco has become the 14th member of PA Sports, the lead agency for sports tourism in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Delaware County’s sports facilities allow the destination to accommodate almost any type of tournament/sporting event, including soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, field hockey, softball, golf, Olympic-sized hockey and curling rinks, Olympic-sized pools, pickleball, and more.
“As the official tourism promotion agency for Delaware County, Visit Delco’s mission is to help drive the economic vitality of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, as a dynamic tourism destination,” said Steve Byrne, executive director of Visit Delco. “We’re thrilled to join PA Sports to further our efforts of promoting our abundance of diverse sports venues, and to shine the spotlight on Delaware County as a unique place to visit, meet, stay and play.”
PA Sports is celebrating its 20th year in the sports tourism industry. Visit Delco joins Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau, Chester County Tourism, Discover Lehigh Valley, Erie Sports Commission, Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance, Hershey Harrisburg Sports & Events Authority, PHL Sports, Sport York, SportsPITTSBURGH, Valley Forge Sports, Visit Luzerne, Visit Johnstown and VM Sports as members.
“PA Sports is very excited to add Visit Delco as our newest member,” said Mark Jeanneret, chair of PA Sports and executive director of the Erie Sports Commission. “Delco features numerous venues that are poised to increase the impact of sports tourism in the Commonwealth. We are looking forward to sharing our collective expertise with our new partners to help them capitalize on the ever-growing sports tourism industry.”
