The NJCAA Division III men’s basketball championships will go to Herkimer, New York, in 2026 and 2028 and to Rochester, Minnesota, in 2027.
“The Men’s Basketball Committee was pleased to have numerous outstanding candidates to host our DIII Men’s Basketball Championship,” said Greg Witkop, NJCAA DIII men’s basketball chair. “Herkimer and Rochester were selected as they have demonstrated an ability to provide an outstanding student-athlete experience, combined with first class tournament operations and a strong local interest in the tournament. Both of these hosts have also successfully hosted numerous other championships in the past which helped the committee with our selection.”
The 2025 championship will be held at Herkimer College from March 12-15. Herkimer previously hosted the 2023 and 2024 championships and the Generals have a rich history of hosting NJCAA championship events including hosting Division III soccer, softball and men’s and women’s lacrosse national tournaments for several years.
“Herkimer County Community College is honored once again to be selected by the NJCAA in hosting the NJCAA Division III Men’s Basketball National Championship in 2026 and 2028.” said Donnie Dutcher, dean of students and director of athletics. “We look forward to delivering an outstanding experience for all the student athletes, coaches and supporters who make this event special. It’s a privilege to have our campus and community at the forefront of such an important national event.”
Rochester MN Sports will host the 2027 tournament at the Regional Sports Center from March 10-13.
“Rochester MN Sports, in partnership with the Rochester Community and Technical College, are thrilled to be hosting the NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball Championship again in 2027,” said Linsy Funk, senior manager of events and operations. “Rochester Sports has a long-standing history of hosting NJCAA DIII Championships and are honored to be able to continue that partnership. These events are a privilege for our city and our staff strive to provide an outstanding experience for the teams that will come to compete here.”
