Greensboro, North Carolina, will host the women’s basketball 2025–2026 season opener between North Carolina State and Tennesee at the First Horizon Coliseum on November 4, 2025.
“We are excited to partner with Gazelle Group to bring another marquee college basketball game to First Horizon Coliseum,” said Scott Johnson, First Horizon Coliseum general manager. “As the host of 24 ACC women’s basketball tournaments and six NCAA women’s basketball regionals, Greensboro has a long history of supporting women’s college basketball and we look forward to having a packed house next season for this terrific ACC-SEC clash.”
N.C. State is coming off a 2024 NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance and has been to seven straight NCAA Tournaments, including five Sweet 16 appearances and two Elite Eight berths in that time. Tennessee is the winningest program in women’s basketball history and the only school to appear in every NCAA Tournament. The Lady Vols have won eight national championships and appeared in 18 Final Fours.
“We are excited to bring this marquee matchup to Greensboro and look forward to adding this to the city’s college basketball inventory,” said Rick Giles, president of Gazelle Group, which is organizing the game.
