Posted On: February 20, 2025 By :The NAIA has extended its agreement with Sioux City, Iowa, and the Tyson Events Center, naming them hosts of the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship through 2028.
The destination will host the upcoming women’s volleyball national championship set to take place December 3–9, 2025. Last year’s title game saw No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan outlast No. 5 Bellevue (Nebraska).
“As women’s athletics continues to explode in popularity, we are proud to be on the forefront of that growth through our longstanding partnership with the NAIA,” said Chad Smidt, general manager of the Tyson Events Center. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner in the NAIA and can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to develop and grow the women’s volleyball national championship in Sioux City.”
The women’s volleyball national championship has been in Sioux City since 2008. Each year, the championship features 24 teams at Tyson Events Center competing in a seven-day, single-elimination tournament. The championship averages around 6,650 attendees from across the region and country.
“We are thrilled to extend the contract to host the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship in Sioux City,” said Corey Westra, commissioner of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. “The growth and excitement around volleyball in Sioux City and the surrounding area has been a direct result of this prestigious championship being here since 2008. Hosting this event is a tremendous honor and continues our long-standing tradition of being a strong partner with the NAIA as a high-caliber championship host community.”
