MLB to Debut All-Star 4.4 Miler Charity Run

The event on July 13 will honor Hank Aaron as part of MLB All-Star Week

Major League Baseball has announced a new activation at this year’s All-Star Game in Atlanta — the MLB All-Star 4.4 Miler run which will pay tribute to Braves icon Hank Aaron.

Tickets will cost $44, with proceeds benefitting Chasing The Dream Foundation and the Henry Louis Aaron Fund. Participants will start and finish outside Center Parc Stadium, near the site of Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run in 1974. The running path will include baseball-themed design elements, as well as passing the Hank Aaron statue.

“Hank Aaron is one of the most important figures in Atlanta history, and we are honored to celebrate him with the MLB All-Star 4.4 Miler,” said Rich Kenah, chief executive officer of Atlanta Track Club. “This race is a perfect fusion of Atlanta’s rich baseball heritage and its vibrant running community, offering participants an opportunity to engage with the excitement of All-Star Week while paying homage to one of baseball’s greatest legends.”

MLB is working with the Atlanta Track Club, runningnerds and the Atlanta Braves to host the event, which will take place through Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood on July 13 as part of 2025 MLB All-Star Week. The race is open to participants ages nine and older and welcomes both strollers and dogs.MLB legends will cheer on participants throughout the race.

“One of our key priorities for All-Star Week in Atlanta is to celebrate the city’s deep baseball roots while engaging broader communities,” said April Brown, Major League Baseball senior vice president, social responsibility.  “Atlanta has a large and energetic running community. By pairing the energy of the running world with Hank Aaron’s enduring legacy in the heart of Braves Country, we’ve created a unique event for fans, families, and runners of all ages.”

Registration includes a commemorative shirt and medal. The Henry Louis Aaron Fund was established in 2021 by the Braves, MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association to positively impact the future of baseball by investing in those who are following in his footsteps on the field and in the front office.
