Meet Boston Partners with Boston Triathlon and Supertri Boston
The August 17–18 event will bring thousands of competitors to the city
Posted On: July 24, 2024 By :Meet Boston will be a host partner of the 2024 Boston Triathlon and Supertri Boston, which will take place August 17–18.
The event will include many Olympic triathletes, as the competition will take place one week after the medals have been handed out in Paris. It will also be the Supertri League‘s season opener, as the organization expands to North America where it will host two new events in the United States to form a five-stop league.
“We partner with events and organizations that highlight the very best of Boston and provide opportunities to bring visitors to our city,” said Martha Sheridan, president and chief executive officer at Meet Boston. “Over its 16-year history, the Boston Triathlon has increasingly drawn athletes from around the country and the world to race here in our great city. The Boston Triathlon/Supertri Boston weekend showcases some of the most scenic parts of the destination and offers both family-friendly activities and exhilarating competition among the world’s best athletes.”
The Boston Triathlon will feature swimming in Dorchester Bay, biking through Boston city streets and running along the Southie shoreline. The weekend is expected to bring thousands of participants and fans to the Boston waterfront for two days of races for kids, adults, relay teams and Olympic triathletes.
“Since Day One, we have been focused on partnering with quality organizations so the Boston Tri can have a positive impact on the city of Boston and ensure this is a race for everyone,” said Michael O’Neil, president of the Boston Triathlon. “We are excited to host the first ever Supertri Boston and work with Meet Boston to show Boston Triathlon participants and Supertri fans around the world how vibrant and amazing the city is during the summer.”
The weekend-long Boston Triathlon includes Kids Day at the Boston Tri, the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon (Olympic and sprint distance races), and Supertri Boston (Professional League).
