Three of the biggest names in the Premier League have announced a series of games in the United States this summer as part of their respective preseason training.
Arsenal and Manchester United will play on July 27 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, followed by Arsenal facing Liverpool on July 31 in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field. Liverpool and Manchester United will face each other on August 3 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
Entering the weekend, Liverpool leads the Premier League standings with Arsenal five points behind in third place and Manchester United in sixth place.
“Experience Columbia SC Sports is honored to be ‘The Official Destination Partner’ of this once in a lifetime event,” said Scott Powers, executive director of Experience Columbia SC Sports. “The global reach and fanbase surrounding this sport and these teams generates the potential to make this the most impactful sporting event ever hosted in Columbia. We look forward to showcasing our destination to the fans of Man U. and Liverpool and can’t wait to Paint the Town Red together come August 3.”
It will be the second consecutive year that Manchester United’s men’s first-team squad has toured in the United States. The club played four games last summer in the U.S., including against Arsenal at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which will be the host for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup final. Manchester United is a winner of a record 20 league titles and have won every major trophy in England and Europe.
“The popularity of English football is continuously growing in the U.S. and we’ve come to expect passionate and enthusiastic support from our U.S. fan base,” said Manchester United Football Director John Murtough. “They didn’t disappoint last year and everyone at the club is looking forward to reconnecting with those fans again this summer.”
Liverpool F.C. will return to the United States for the first time in five years. The club has won 19 domestic league titles, eight FA Cups and six European Cups.
“The USA is an important market for the club and our partners with 67 official supporters clubs, international academies across 12 states and the USA being the number one international market for our merchandising business,” said Ben Latty, Liverpool’s commercial director. “Preseason tours always present exceptional opportunities for our supporters, the team and our official partners to engage in memorable experiences within a key focus market for the club.”
Along with its friendly against Manchester United in New Jersey, Arsenal played Barcelona at SoFi Stadium and against the Major League Soccer All-Stars in Washington, D.C., last summer.
“It’s great to be visiting the U.S. again,” said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. “Our tour last year was a real success and it’s always an amazing experience to play in front of our passionate supporters in the U.S. We’re looking forward to returning and seeing everyone again.”
