“Expanding to 10 teams is a major milestone for MLTT and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome the New York Slice and Atlanta Blazers,” said MLTT Commissioner Flint Lane. “These cities are known for their passionate sports cultures, and with strong ownership and coaching, we believe both teams will be ready to compete at the highest level.”
The teams will join MLTT’s eight original teams beginning in September 2025. MLTT also closed a $5.5 million financing round in October 2024.
The New York Slice will be led by coach Adam Hugh, a six-time U.S. Men’s National Team member who competed in five World Championships and one World Team Cup.
“New York is home to the most passionate sports fans in the world — a city built on resilience and the relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Hugh. “As we bring MLTT to the metropolitan area, I’m excited to help build a winning culture and make every match an electrifying experience for our fans.”
The Atlanta Blazers will be led by coach Suzi Battison, who competed in China before becoming head coach at the National Stadium in New Jersey in 2013.
“Atlanta is an elite sports city and we’re excited to introduce fans to the speed, skill and excitement of MLTT,” said Battinson. “Our team will bring a strong work ethic and a competitive spirit that reflects the passion of Atlanta’s sports culture.”
