Lyon to Host Two Major Esports World Championships

The 2025 Rocket League World Championship and Fortnite Battle Royale Global Championship are both headed to Lyon, France.

Esports event organizer Blast has teamed with AEG Presents to help support and promote the Fortnite Global Championship and Rocket League World Championship events at LDLC Arena.

Last year, both events took place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Both events are worldwide competitions with teams from North America, Europe, Brazil, Asia, Middle East, Oceania, North Africa and South America battling for world championships.

The Fortnite Championship event will take place September 6–7, featuring 33 trios from around the globe competing for a share of the $2 million prize pool.  This year’s championship for Rocket League runs from September 9–14 and will see 20 international Rocket League teams compete for a $1.2 million prize pool and the title of world champion.

It will be the first time the event is hosted in France, where seven previous world champions have hailed from since 2022.
