LPGA Adds Match-Play Event in Las Vegas
Shadow Creek, site of Tiger vs. Phil, will host the event in May 2021
Posted On: February 23, 2021 By :The LPGA has announced it will host the inaugural Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play Hosted by Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The MGM Resorts International course will host the event May 26-30 for 64 players and feature a $1.5 million prize purse.
The Los Angeles-based Bank of Hope previously served as title sponsor of the Bank of Hope Founders Cup from 2017 to 2019.
“We are extremely pleased to once again partner with the LPGA and inaugurate a highly anticipated LPGA match-play competition as title sponsor of the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play Hosted by Shadow Creek,” said Kevin S. Kim, chairman and chief executive officer of Bank of Hope. “This event combines the top female golfers with one of the most exclusive golf courses in the country in a unique match-play format. We look forward to working closely with the LPGA and Shadow Creek to create one of the Tour’s most exciting and successful events of 2021 and beyond.”
Shadow Creek is a Tom Fazio-designed course built in 1989. In 2018, it hosted The Match: Tiger vs. Phil and in October 2020 it hosted the PGA Tour’s CJ Cup. This will be the first LPGA event at the course.

The event will be the LPGA’s first match-play event since 2017.
