LIV Golf Tabs Scott O’Neil as Chief Executive Officer
O’Neil takes over for Hall of Fame Golfer Greg Norman

O’Neil will drive the strategic vision, business operations, and global growth for the league and its 13 teams. Greg Norman, the public face of LIV Golf as its first chief executive officer and commissioner, will remain involved with the organization.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we welcome Scott to the LIV Golf family, knowing he will capitalize on everything that has been accomplished over the past three years,” said LIV Golf Board Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan. “Scott has the passion, the tenacity and the vision to continue leveraging LIV Golf’s position as a pre-eminent, global sports and entertainment company and to lead our amazing teams and players for years to come.”
LIV Golf recently released its full 2025 schedule, which includes six U.S. destinations.
O’Neil previously served as chief executive officer at Merlin Entertainments. Before Merlin, O’Neil served as chief executive officer for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, where he oversaw more than $2 billion of growth in enterprise value.

Norman was announced as LIV Golf’s first chief executive officer and commissioner in October 2021, leading the organization over the past three-plus years, including establishing its team and competition format and securing a roster including some of the world’s top golfers.
“Congratulations to Scott,” Norman said. “He is exactly the type of experienced professional who understands the unique and powerful combination of entertainment and sports that LIV Golf exemplifies. The league will be in very good hands with him at the helm.”
