Larry Probst Nominated to IOC
Posted On: July 2, 2013 By :Larry Probst, president of the U.S. Olympic Committee, has been nominated to join the International Olympic Committee. Probst is one of nine new nominees who will be up for election to the IOC in September. If confirmed, Probst would join Anita DeFrantz, Jim Easton and Angela Ruggiero as U.S. representatives on the 100-member IOC.
“I am truly honored to be nominated for membership in the IOC, and extremely grateful for the potential opportunity to serve the Olympic movement,” Probst said.
Other nominees are Dagmawit Girmay Berhane (Ethiopia), Mikaela Maria Antonia Cojuangco-Jaworski (Philippines), Camiel Eurlings (Netherlands), Stefan Holm (Sweden), Octavian Morariu (Romania) and Bernard Rajzman (Brazil), Paul Tergat (Kenya) and Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov.
