LA28 Announces Cisco as Official Network Equipment Partner

The 2028 Games will be Cisco's fifth as networking infrastructure provider

Cisco has announced a partnership for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games in Los Angeles and Team USA to serve as its official network equipment partner.

Cisco has served as an official partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London (2012), Rio de Janeiro (2016), Tokyo (2020) and Paris (2024). Cisco’s networking solutions will be deployed across numerous venues throughout the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area to provide connectivity for all involved in the LA28 Games.

“Connectivity is going to be integral as we plan to deliver the Olympic and Paralympic Games all throughout Los Angeles,” said Casey Wasserman, LA28 chairperson and president. “Cisco’s leadership in the industry and experience will enable us to provide the best and most seamless experience for our athletes, fans, partners and community at large.”

Cisco will also create opportunities in Los Angeles through new and existing social impact programming, including the Cisco Networking Academy, which was founded in 1997 and provides networking and network security training and educational courses to more than 20 million students worldwide. Cisco has 35 active academies in the Los Angeles area and has supported 34,000 students in the region since the program’s inception.

“The Games have become a powerful symbol of representation for the world, embodying the principle that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to compete. ,” said Francine Katsoudas, chief people, policy and purpose officer at Cisco. “We can’t wait to use our expertise to securely connect these globally beloved events, leave a lasting positive impact on Los Angeles and amplify the ideals of organizations like Cisco who seek to foster an inclusive future for all.”

Cisco Networking Academy provided young people from Rio de Janeiro’s with the tools and skills for future success and employability during the 2016 Games. Similarly, ahead of the Tokyo Games in 2021, Cisco launched a program designed to provide youth with technical knowledge and skills, educating more than 6,000 students in total.
