The San Diego Clippers, the LA Clippers’ G League relocated affiliate, will play its first game at Frontwave Arena in San Diego on November 8, 2024, with the full season schedule announced in September.
The Los Angeles Clippers announced in March their NBA G League team will relocate to Oceanside, California, and rebrand as the San Diego Clippers, starting play at Frontwave Arena for the 2024–2025 season. The Clippers organization returns to the San Diego area, where the NBA team played from 1978–1984.
“We can’t wait to kick off the San Diego Clippers season at Frontwave Arena on November 8 and officially welcome Clippers fans back to San Diego,” said Josh Elias, co-founder and chief executive officer of Frontwave Arena. “After it opens this summer, our brand new arena will host 24 San Diego Clippers home games this season and we’re thrilled to build a new home for Clippers basketball in Oceanside.”
Other confirmed home game dates include December 29, January 9, February 27, March 1 and March 14.
The LA Clippers and Halo Sports and Entertainment – the new brand encompassing the Clippers and their G League team, the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome – will partner with Frontwave Arena to run the business operations of the G League Clippers. Expected to open this summer, Frontwave Arena will host entertainment and sporting events including the San Diego Sockers professional indoor soccer team. The 7,500-capacity arena, located in Oceanside, will also have an outdoor plaza.
