The local organizing committee for Kansas City’s matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup are putting its sponsorship and supporter packages on the market with a variety of marketing assets, tickets and hospitality amenities.
This is the first time FIFA has allowed host cities to sell local sponsorships. Kansas City will host six games during the World Cup, highlighted by a quarterfinal match on July 11. Kansas City also has three potential base camp locations.
“This is an unprecedented way for companies in our region to associate their brands with the most-watched competition in the world. Soccer is the world’s most-popular sport and, as the Soccer Capital of America, we are excited for companies to leverage Kansas City’s unique FIFA World Cup Host City mark throughout the Midwest,” said Pam Kramer, KC2026 chief executive officer. “This is also a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate the unified, regional support for our efforts to welcome the world.”
Each Host City is able to sell up to 10 Host City Supporter packages. Assets include use of the Host City Supporter logo, option to activate at the local FIFA Fan Festival and tickets and hospitality offerings for matches and other exclusive events, along with inclusion in Host City marketing assets. Host City Supporters will have the option to include a suite within their packages and will choose those suites prior to the general public.
In addition to the 10 supporter packages, KC2026 can partner with an unlimited number of Host City Champions with benefits including tickets and hospitality, as well as the option to purchase and select a suite before the general public. Host City Champions will receive name recognition on the KC2026 website and at other KC2026 events but cannot use KC2026’s Host Committee Supporter logo.
NJ Transit Unveils Plans for 2026 World Cup Transportation
New Jersey Transit approved construction of a proposed “transitway” system to handle fans who attend 2026 World Cup matches, according to NJ.com.
The contract to build a 7-mile bus rapid transit system was awarded to Anselmi & DeCicco by a unanimous vote without a price tag for construction, the news organization said. NJ Transit has a deadline to have Transitway operational in spring 2026 to test the system before the World Cup.
MetLife Stadium will host eight matches, five in the group stage as well as a Round of 32 and Round of 16 game before hosting the final on July 19, 2026. The venue will also host matches including the final in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The transitway, NJ.com said, would be New Jersey’s first bus rapid transit system, “with the ability to move up to 12,000 people per hour, between Secaucus Junction train station and MetLife Stadium, using part of an abandoned rail line, NJ Transit officials said.” The Meadowlands sports complex rail line has the capacity to move 10,000 people an hour to the stadium.
