The 2024 Teenage CrossFit Games have been awarded to Kalamazoo, Michigan, and will take place in late August at the Wings Event Center.
This will be the fifth edition of the teen-only competition known as “The Pit,” which features 270 athletes competing over the course of five days. The Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo will host action on August 28–29, August 31 and September 1. Wings Event Center is home to the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team and features a 17,000-square-foot main arena.
“When we were sought out by CrossFit to organize the 2024 Games for the teens, we realized we were going to need more space so athletes, parents, coaches, sponsors and others can have the best experience possible,” said Stephanie Price, co-founder and director of operations for the event. “This is simply the best of both worlds. The athletes get to be under the lights and the jumbotron and have that arena experience but also come down to The Pit for a day on the trails and in the sand, slag and water.”
Two “Prodigies” events from August 27–29 will precede the main. The Pit Teen Throwdown will feature 90 athletes ages 14–17 and the Pit Collegiate Throwdown will feature 60 athletes ages 14–22.
