A three-day strategic planning event at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee headquarters brought together the Chefs and Deputy Chefs de Mission from 41 national Olympic committees that are members of Panam Sports and provided operational insights for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games scheduled for August 9–23.
Figures from the Olympic Movement were also present. The Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025 will showcase over 4,000 athletes from throughout the Americas, competing across 28 sports and 42 disciplines.
“We are very pleased with the progress that Asunción is showing for the Junior Pan American Games,” said Panam Sports President and IOC Member Neven Ilic. “I believe these have been very productive days for all the Chefs de Mission who fulfil a very important role in the success of these Games. I have no doubt that this continental celebration will be spectacular and unforgettable for everyone.”
The seminar provided delegations’ Chefs de Mission with briefings across all operational areas critical to the Games’ success along with tours of key competition and training facilities. A feature of the seminar was the personalized sessions between each Chef de Mission and Local Organizing Committee functional areas, creating tailored support strategies for each nation’s requirements.
“During the seminar, the importance of these Games for the development of young talent in our Continent was highlighted and the collaborative work with the Organising Committee to ensure a high-level competition was evident,” said Jimena Saldaña, Secretary General of Panam Sports. “Progress in the organisation was evaluated and cooperation with the National Olympic Committees was strengthened, supporting the success of Asunción 2025.”
