Jeff Jarnecke, the long-time director of championships and alliances at the NCAA, will leave the collegiate sports organization to take on a new role in the city of South Bend, Indiana. Jarnecke will begin his new position October 16 as the deputy director of venues, parks and arts for the city of South Bend.
Jarnecke has been the championships and alliances director at the NCAA since 2005, overseeing several recent bid cycles for NCAA championship events, including the most recent cycle that included events through the 2021–2022 season. He served as a board member for the National Association of Sports Commissions from 2005–2006.
