International World Games Association Opens Bidding for 2033 World Games
Bid book now available online for interested cities
Posted On: December 2, 2024 By :The International World Games Association has opened the bidding process for The World Games 2033 with its bid book available to potential hosts of the multi-sport event.
The IWGA Bid Book 2033 provides cities with a roadmap to deliver the event for athletes, fans and partners from across the globe. Interested cities can access the IWGA Bid Book 2033, along with complete bid submission instructions.
Within the document, interested cities will find guidelines and requirements covering areas such as infrastructural needs, environmental sustainability practices, athlete accommodations and community engagement plans.
“The release of the Bid Book marks a significant milestone in our journey to find a host city that embodies the spirit of The World Games through excellence, inclusivity, and innovation,” said IWGA President José Perurena. “We’ve already engaged in meaningful discussions with cities that view our event as an exciting and beneficial opportunity, and we warmly invite cities worldwide to review this document and consider the chance to host The World Games 2033. Together, we can bring communities closer and celebrate the universal joy of sport.”
The next edition of The World Games will be in Chengdu, China, from August 7–17, 2025, with 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries expected to compete. The 2029 World Games have been awarded to Karlsruhe, Germany.
